BRIAN KENNEDY JOINS CAST OF “MOONLIGHT: THE PHILIP LYNOTT ENIGMA” AS OSCAR WILDE FOR PERFORMANCES AT GLENEAGLE ARENA
After the sell-out success of its debut shows at Vicar Street in April, we are delighted to announce that renowned Irish singer-songwriter Brian Kennedy is set to join the cast of the critically acclaimed rock-theatre production Moonlight: The Philip Lynott Enigma, portraying literary icon Oscar Wilde at Gleneagle ArenaBrian Kennedy says: “I’m beyond thrilled to be part of “Moonlight” and of course to bring something new to the legend of Oscar! I feel like I have finally met Phil Lynott and Brendan Behan”. Moonlight is a powerful new production that delves into the early life of Thin Lizzy frontman Philip Lynott, portraying him not just as a rock legend but as a literary figure worthy of standing alongside Wilde and Behan. The show blends live music—including Thin Lizzy classics and original compositions—with theatrical storytelling to explore Lynott’s formative years in Dublin and London during the late 1960s and early '70s. Brian Kennedy’s portrayal of Oscar Wilde adds a compelling layer to the narrative, drawing a poetic connection between two of Dublin’s most influential cultural figures. The production is created by John Merrigan and Danielle Morgan, directed by Jason Figgis, and stars Peter M. Smith as Philip Lynott.
