Readings by acclaimed Irish writers Kevin Barry, William Wall and Nuala O'Connor Introduced by Jamie O’Connell Friday, June 20th 2025, 6:00pm - 7:30 pm Kevin Barry is a novelist, short story writer, playwright and screenwriter. His awards include the Dublin Literary Award, the EU Prize for Literature and the Goldsmiths Prize. The Heart in Winter, set in Butte, Montana, is his most recent novel. His play The Cave is currently showing in the Abbey Theatre Dublin and stars Tommy Tiernan. He lives in County Sligo William Wall is the author of eight novels, six collections of poetry and three short fiction collections. His most recent novel, Writers Anonymous, is set in a fictitious village in West Cork during lockdown. His short stories have won him many prizes, including the Drue Heinz Literary Prize in the USA. He lives between Ireland and Italy. Nuala O’Connor lives in Galway, Ireland. Her sixth novel Seaborne, about Irish-born pirate Anne Bonny, was published in April 2024 by New Island. Her novel, Nora, about Nora Barnacle and James Joyce, was a Top 10 historical novel in the New York Times. She won Irish Short Story of the Year at the 2022 Irish Book Awards. Jamie O’Connell is the author of the best-selling novel, Diving for Pearls (Doubleday UK) and a short story collection, Some Sort of Beauty. He has an MFA in creative writing and has taught in University College Dublin and as part of the University of Iowa’s Irish Summer School. He lives in Kerry.
